2016, I welcome you.Read More
A little later than usual and for the week that is in it, I thought a break from the routine would be good for this week's 'This Week.'
Our week was everything Christmas week should be: Gifts, excitement, eating and relaxing. I like this stage of the Christmas, the in-between spell, you can kind of get back to normal but are also well aware that you are still in the midsts of seasonal magic.
The past week brought more unsettled weather to our shores, we had the mother of all storms on St. Stephen's night. We huddled up around the fire and decided to sleep downstairs where it was nice and cosy, all tucked up together, snug and secure - Just the way I like it.
We had an unexpected visit from one of my best and dearest of friends on Friday night. It was so good to see her, to spend time talking, sharing tales and laughing. Some people just warm your heart and remind you of the fabric of yourself that you sometimes forget.
…And here we are, it is still only Sunday and yet another full week of holidays ahead - Christmas continues in this house until Nollaig na mBan (Women's Christmas) the 6th January. I always have a gathering of womenfolk (and some men) to celebrate this tradition…
In the meantime we have New Year celebrations, lots more eating, drinking, storytelling, playing, visiting, sauntering, classic christmas film watching and day trippin' to do -
