Making Memories

On reflection life really is all about trying to create magical memories, for yourself, your love, your children, your family, your friends and for those who will come after us and who will only know us through these memories that we make and share

Making memories makes me feel whole, complete and grateful. Thanks to all those who shared and helped create the Christmas time memories over the past few weeks.

Nollaig na mBan

The 6th January is the Feast of the Epiphany, traditionally known in Ireland as 'Little Christmas' or in Irish as 'Nollaig na mBan or 'Women's Christmas' in english.

On this day, women have traditionally enjoyed a day of rest, acknowledgement and thanks after the work and hustle and bustle of organising Christmas festivities.

In this house, the 12th day of Christmas is always marked as Nollaig na mBan - A day of celebration and the enjoyment of female company.

My annual gathering this evening, I fear, will be a smaller affair than usual, due to the inclement weather conditions - However as I discovered long ago - It's the quality not the quantity!

I have decided to have a theme for this years gathering:

'Sugar & Spice & All Things Nice' -

I'll leave you with a few images of past Nollaig na mBan celebrations and look forward to sharing new memories with you later in the week.

Happy Nollaig na mBan.
