Introducing 'The Mellow Yellow' cocktail - Smooth and fragrant with a hint of the exotic.
For those of you, like myself, who do not have the fortune to winter in sunnier climes, sit back savour a Mellow Yellow and allow your imagination to flow.
The fragrance and hint of the exotic from the Gorse flowers, Gorse Syrup and Crème de Pèches offers a depth, that is greatly appreciated on a cold blustery February day in the West of Ireland!
You will need:
- 35ml Spiced Vodka (I used a spiced vodka that I had made before christmas, infused with a vanilla pod, nutmeg, cloves, bay leaves and allspice berries )- It was ideal for the cocktail. Regular Vodka will suffice though.
- 15ml Crème de Pèches Liquer
- 10ml Gorse Syrup
- 35ml fresh orange juice
- 1 egg white
- Gorse Flowers to garnish
To begin, place the egg white into your cocktail shaker and shake shake shake....
Add the rest of the ingredients and shake more.
Strain into a pretty glass and garnish
...Sit back, raise your feet and enjoy.
