There is something so special about receiving a gift at christmas which has been carefully and lovingly handcrafted by someone you know.
It's usually an extra bonus when it comes in the form of something tasty. Between now and Christmas, I will share a few of my favourite edible gifts.
It is so simple to make this special treat and is way ahead in the taste stakes of those preservative and additive loaded shop bought varieties.
You will need:
- 2 cups of Irish Whiskey
- 1 cup of strong coffee
- 1 and a half cups Cream
- 1 can of Condensed Milk
- 1 tablespoon of Cocoa
- Half teaspoon of Vanilla Tincture (or extract)
- 4 drops of Chocolate Bitters
Yield- Approx one large 750ml bottle.
Combine a little of the cream to the coffee and cocoa powder to form a paste.
Add the rest of the cream and whisk to a smooth consistency
Add the rest of the ingredients and whisk a little more, finishing with a stir.
Pour into one large or a few smaller sterilised bottles. Decorate Accordingly! This will last approx 3 weeks or so kept in the fridge.
